What is art to me?
Art to me is a way to be creative and express myself freely through colors and a lot of different styles and techniques. For some people, art is the entire reason they get out of bed in the morning. Art is something that makes us more thoughtful and well-rounded humans. Art is such a large part of our everyday lives, we hardly even stop to think about it. It’s the way a person views something and then tries to project their own perspective of that to their audience in their own unique way so they can also feel and understand their take on that specific thing. Art is subjective, and means something different to every single person on earth. Art to me is also a form of therapy and confession, it allows your mind to be free and be able to vent and confess bottled up feelings through your hands and eyes. It also allows the imagination to flow freely and it creates a product of human creativity.
I feel there are very many different forms of art. A few examples are the following: sculpting, painting, graphic/interior design, photography, literature, music and film making, of course those are just to name a few. In my opinion all these have something in common. For instant, if you are an interior designer/decorator it is a very important duty to pick the right wall paint and lighting for a specific room. Why do you ask? Well, because those two elements will determine how that room makes you feel the minute you enter it. The same goes with a picture or a painting; they both transmit feelings and emotions when you look at it. Ever heard the expression a picture is worth more than a thousand words? Just by looking at something it can speak to you in such a way that no words are actually needed or necessary to tell you how it’s supposed to make you feel. You immediately know when a work of art has made an impact on you because you are drawn to it and it speaks to you loud and clear in so many different ways. Art stimulates different parts of our brains to make us laugh or cry, with a whole lot of emotions in between, that’s what art is to me.
